Bellevue, WA. During a theater upgrade, existing in-wall speakers were repurposed rather than discarded. Three front speakers were relocated and mounted below a custom TV wall in the basement rec room, and four great room speakers were repurposed as surround channels. The Marantz receiver powering the entire system is located in an equipment rack on the opposite side of the wall, keeping all equipment completely out of sight.

Bellevue, WA. The finished installation with three displays, three front speakers, and two KEF 1000-watt low-profile subwoofers fitted beneath the cabinetry. The Marantz receiver and full equipment rack sit on the opposite side of the wall with zero visible hardware in the room.

Bellevue, WA. All three displays active and independently controlled via the Nice automation system over the network. The center display connects to Apple TV and the Marantz receiver for primary viewing. The left and right displays can simultaneously show different content — separate channels, different sports events, anything — all managed from a single control interface.

Bellevue, WA. The theater as initially completed with three in-wall speakers and a 100-inch placeholder screen installed to give potential buyers a visual representation of the theater space during the home sale. Speaker placement was adjusted at the builder's request to accommodate a potential television installation — moved outward and lowered from the ideal acoustic position behind an acoustic transparent screen. Not wrong for a TV setup, but not optimized for the projector and screen system the homeowner ultimately chose.

Bellevue, WA. A slightly angled view of the builder-provided front wall configuration. The 100-inch screen and three in-wall speakers were installed as part of the model home presentation package — functional enough to show the space but not configured for serious home theater performance. The room itself had all the right ingredients for a world-class theater once the right system was designed and installed.

Bellevue, WA. Builder-provided rear surround speakers installed to spec for the model home presentation. When the homeowner committed to a full theater upgrade, every speaker in the theater was replaced with Theory Audio speakers properly positioned for acoustic performance. The builder-provided speakers found a better home — the ceiling speakers and front three were all repurposed into the basement rec room where they now serve as the front, surround, and ceiling channels in the three-display entertainment system.

Bellevue, WA. With the builder-provided speakers removed, Theory Audio in-wall speakers were installed in acoustically correct positions optimized for the projector and screen configuration.
